Between the Senses: Mood-Spectrum Candle Workshop

Inspired by the exhibition “Unfinished Time: Chinese Contemporary Art in the 1980s × 1990s”, TAM EVENT presents the “Between Senses” workshop series. This experience invites you to explore the artistic presentations within the exhibition, perceiving intangible emotions and memories through an interplay of visual and olfactory senses.

The exhibition space is divided into 13 zones, each dedicated to a specific emotion: Melodious, Passionate, Tragic, Tense, Warm, Energetic, Profound, Serene, Romantic, Joyful, Ever-changing, Deep, and Soothing. The rhythm of an era solidifies into unique perceptions within each individual, evolving into the distinct colors of our lives. What color is your emotion at this very moment?

In collaboration with the art and design brand Theoria Studio, this workshop uses natural plant wax as our canvas. We will freely blend imported oil-based pigments on a 70°C palette; every texture and stroke becomes an aesthetic captured by the low-temperature wax. The fragrance-free design ensures that color remains the sole focus of sensory expression. Your recorded emotional spectrum will, when catalyzed by flame, melt into a one-of-a-kind sculptural form.
